March 1980

Established in Kamata, Ota-ku, Tokyo as a subsidiary of Okawara Manufacturing, Co., Ltd. (HQ: Shizuoka), a large manufacturer of various drying devices, for the purposes of developing, designing, and producing products.

September 1980

Merges with Kochiwa Kakohki Co., Ltd.
Enters the spray dryer and Water Treatment Equipment Department.
In particular, improves the scale and content of test equipment at the Spray Dryer Department by combining technical improvements and original technology development, and made efforts to strengthen training companywide.

August 1982

Signs a technology licensing agreement with FLAKT INC. in the US.
(For coal-fired power plants. Supplies 12 300 kw OCA-620G exhaust atomizers to PACIFIC POWER AND LIGHT COMPANY)

November 1983

Moves HQ to its current location in Tsuzuki-ku, Yokohama.
There is a test building on the premises. It is equipped with six test machines.

January 1984

Begins research into and production of samples of fry feed (micro-encapsulation).

March 1984

Develops and sells nitrogen gas closed circulation type spray dryer models C-12, 16, and 20.

June 1984

Obtains capital participation from Tokyo Small and Medium Business Investment & Consultation Co., Ltd.
(Venture business investment No. 1)
Becomes a non-subsidiary of Okawara Manufacturing, Co., Ltd.

April 1985

Opens the Osaka Office in Shibata, Kita-ku, Osaka.
Develops and sells ceramics spray dryer models F-12, 16, and 20.

September 1985

Jointly develops a spray bag dryer (world’s first dryer that dries and granulates in a large detachable bag) with TDK, Inc.
Applies for patent in countries around the world (subsequently granted).

March 1988

Develops and sells ceramics spray dryer models FOC-12, 16, and 20.

September 1989
(Heisei 1)

Develops pressurized two-fluid nozzle (applies for and is granted patent).
Completes and begins selling fluid granulating spray dryer.

April 1990

Increases capital to 88 million yen.

March 1996

Establishes Japan-China joint venture company Shanghai Ohkawara Dryers Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China in an effort to develop the Chinese market and low-cost production. (Held opening ceremony in October.)

April 1997

Acquires ISO9001 certification. Sets a basic quality policy calling for the “reliable and safe delivery of good quality products that gain the trust of and satisfy customers.”

April 1998

Productizes and starts selling the “GASTEM” incinerator instantaneous exhaust gas cooler.

February 2002

Develops a batch-type superheated steam dryer.

August 2002

Establishes Ohkawara Powdertech (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. in Suzhou, China for the purpose of R&D, development, production, sales, and contract production relating to powders and powder devices.

April 2005

Acquires ISO14001 certification.

May 2006

Exhibits at ACHEMA held in Germany.

March 2007

Signs sales alliance agreement for “PAIPALCON instantaneous drying systems” with Paltek Corporation (Kobe).

August 2007

Integrates management with Paltek Corporation and begins continuous sales of “PAIPALCON” as a subsidiary of Paltek.

August 2008

Opens a [powder technology research laboratory] in Fujinomiya, Shizuoka.

April 2009

Integrates Paltek Corporation.

May 2013

Italia Signs a business partner alliance withNol-Tec Europe Srl

September 2013

Establishes the sales company Ohkawara Korea Co., Ltd. in Korea.

October 2013

India Signs an agent agreement with New Era Dairy Engineers India Pvt.Ltd.
